Why so sad?

Adam Langdon started Sad Umbrella when he—I mean, “I”— decided to step out into the world of freelance and all that it entails. I have over a decade of experience creating video content, though my first love was audio engineering. I graduated from The Recording Workshop in 2002 and pursued music as well as photography as “hobbies with benefits”. Eventually I found cinema cameras that pushed me into a new and focused direction. I worked for a non-profit for over 10 years, filming countless interviews and other creative video work. In 2017 I started doing wedding films on the side, and in 2018 I began working as a freelance colorist, grading music videos and short films. I wrote, directed, and filmed several short films over the past few years as well. Whether I’m behind the camera, directing talent, or editing/coloring footage, I push myself to own each project and get better every time.

What I bring to the table is full awareness of what it takes to make a story come to life. Bad audio can ruin a good video. Poor color grading can detract from the content. But ultimately, it is about the story and what you are trying to tell your audience. Story matters, above all else, so let’s make something together that brings hope, joy, and awareness.
